Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
Why KAP?
A deeper entry point for lasting change
Sometimes the work of therapy reaches a threshold — a place where insight is present but something deeper remains lodged, where the usual tools have brought you far but not quite far enough. For some people, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) opens a door to that deeper territory.
KAP is an evidence-informed treatment that pairs ketamine — a safe, legally prescribed medication with significant clinical support — with structured psychotherapy. It is not a shortcut or a standalone solution. It is an augmentation to the therapeutic relationship and process: a way of creating the conditions for breakthroughs that might otherwise take longer to reach, or remain out of reach entirely.
How It Works
KAP acts as a powerful therapeutic tool to tap into and enhance neuroplasticity, psychological healing and well-being.
KAP integrates ketamine's unique neurological and psychological effects with intentional, sustained psychotherapeutic work. Ketamine can temporarily soften psychological defenses and create what researchers describe as a non-ordinary or expanded state of consciousness (NOSC) — a window in which previously stuck emotional content becomes more accessible, and new perspectives, insights, and experiences become possible.
What distinguishes KAP from standalone ketamine treatment is this: the medicine is always held within a therapeutic relationship and a structured clinical process. The preparation that comes before, the quality of presence and attunement during, and the integration work that follows — these are what transform an experience into lasting change.
My Training & Partnership
I completed over 100 hours of specialized KAP training through Polaris Insight Center in San Francisco, one of the leading ketamine-assisted psychotherapy training programs in the Bay Area. Polaris is known for its rigorous, ethically grounded, and clinically sophisticated approach to expanded states of consciousness — an approach that aligns with my own commitment to depth, care, and evidence-informed practice.
I offer KAP in partnership with Journey Clinical, a specialized medical organization that provides the prescribing and medical oversight component of treatment. This collaborative care model means you receive:
• A comprehensive medical evaluation with a Journey Clinical prescriber to assess eligibility and develop your personalized ketamine prescription and treatment plan.
• All medical oversight, prescribing, and outcome monitoring handled by Journey Clinical's KAP-trained medical team of qualified providers.
• The full psychotherapy component — preparation, dosing sessions, and integration — with me, your therapist, who knows your history, your goals, and your inner world.
This division of roles is intentional and important. It ensures that the medicine is administered safely and appropriately, while the therapeutic work remains centered in the relationship, safety and trust we have built together.
Who KAP May Be Right For
KAP may be a fit for individuals who are:
• Interested in the therapeutic potential of expanded states of consciousness within a safe, structured, clinical framework
• Experiencing treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, OCD, or PTSD
• Feeling stuck in their therapeutic work despite genuine effort
• Navigating grief, major life transitions, or existential distress
• Seeking deeper access to underlying patterns that talk therapy has not fully reached
KAP is not appropriate for everyone, and eligibility is determined through a thorough medical and psychological evaluation. I am happy to discuss whether this approach might be a good fit for you during a complimentary consultation.
My Approach to KAP
I bring to KAP the same orientation I bring to all of my clinical work: deep respect for the individuality of each person's inner world, rigorous clinical training, and a genuine commitment to your healing and growth. I do not approach expanded states of consciousness as a curiosity or a trend. I approach them as one of several carefully considered pathways into the profound work of psychological transformation — for the right person, at the right phase, in the right relationship.
